About Aerospace Modeler Magazine

Aerospace Modeler Magazine was conceived in December 2002 as a top-value, hard-copy periodical to meet several needs. We want to:

  • Inform, inspire, and encourage scale aerospace modelers to pursue creativity and excellence in their craft and to enjoy their hobby. We want to help you “take the next step” and “take some chances” in developing your skill and technique, inspire you to get some models built, and encourage you in enjoying your hobby and craft..
  • Recognize and appreciate American aerospace achievement in the context of scale modeling.
  • Provide a readily accessible venue for aerospace model builders, authors, and artists to showcase their work.

Aerospace Modeler Magazine gives aircraft and spacecraft modelers more useful information per page and per issue for the same or less money than any other modeling magazine you can buy. High value features include:

  • Top quality production values like those found in the best European model magazines.
  • High "content density" high and low annual subscription prices. AMM is presently a quarterly magazine with 64 pages per issue. We’ll build up to 6 or 8 issues per year and 96 pages in each regular issue as demand and article backlog permit. Advertising will be limited to about 15% of total page count.
  • Regular feature sections on civil aircraft and real space subjects to cover "aerospace," not just "aeroplanes."

Aerospace Modeler Magazine focuses on topics and items that are useful and interesting to primarily an American modeling audience, especially unique and historically significant American aircraft and aircraft from historical and modern American adversaries (e.g., Japanese WW2, Cold War Soviet bloc, etc.). We cover more than just American topics, however. Americans are interested in all aspects of aviation, so we provide balanced coverage of American, Commonwealth, Russian, Japanese, Western European, and other national topics from all eras and a balanced selection of military aircraft, helicopters, civil aircraft, and real space topics. AMM also covers other closely related modeling topics (e.g., missiles, aircraft carriers, aerospace ground support equipment, etc.) We have no limitations or preferences on scale, level of difficulty, or price range.

Aerospace Modeler Magazine's network of editors, writers, builders, photographers, researchers, and graphic artists helps aspiring authors get their articles created more quickly and without feeling like they have to do everything by themselves. You can download detailed guidance on digital photography and writing articles and reviews from this website. Please contact the Editor if you want to join the team.
