Advertise in Aerospace Modeler Magazine
Advertising Order Closeout Dates shown here are roughly 30 days prior to our file delivery date to our printer. We will try to accommodate any changes or last minute insertions, but we can make no promises for any changes or insertions received after the closeout date for the next issue. Ad closeout dates are subject to change without notice. We will likely be increasing our publication rate from quarterly to 6 issues per year before the end of 2008, and these dates will change accordingly when we make that change.
Why Advertise in AMM?
AMM advertising, articles, and product reviews are an effective way to growing your modeling-related business.
AMM readers are motivated customers in the heart of your core market. AMM readers demand top quality, and they like to spend money on their hobby.
- AMM is America’s premier scale model airplane periodical. AMM gives aircraft and spacecraft modelers more useful information per page and per issue for the same or less money, with the same production values you see in best European model magazines. Associating your product with our top-quality magazine lets your customers know you care about meeting their needs.
- People who read AMM are looking for your ads. They keep up with the latest trends and opportunities so they can more effectively plan their projects and enjoy creating the most accurate models possible.
- Articles written by some of the best authors and builders in the world will showcase your products with extensive in-progress photo coverage to show modelers HOW it was done as well as WHAT was done.
We have other ways to showcase you and your products.
- Let us profile you, your company, and your product line in our “Introducing…” series of articles. Our readers want to know more about you, and this series lets you put a face on your corporate identity.
- Put us on your mailing list for press releases and new product samples so we can include them in our new kit and new product announcements.
- Review our positive, constructive, objective review policies on new kit and product reviews. Our constructive articles and product reviews provide innovative applications and more information on how to use your product than you may be able to include in your instructions.
- Advertise on the AMM website. We typically don’t sell ads on the website, but rather exchange space with other sites.
Please contact the Advertising Manager to discuss these and any other ideas you may have on how we might help you help our readers.
Advertising in AMM – 4 Easy Steps
First, before you order...
Please carefully review the Rate Card (comprehensive information on graphics and images, file formats and sizes, prices, etc.) and the Terms and Conditions.
Second...
The first time you send us files or pay for your ad (either on-line or by mail), we'll create an AMM Advertiser Profile for you. This will save you time when managing your ad orders and payments and it helps us keep track of your files and payments. If you already subscribe to AMM and want to advertise in AMM, but would like to maintain separate profiles for those activities, you may use different user names to create and differentiate your Subscriber and Advertiser profiles. Please see our Privacy Policy Notice and Terms of Use for this site.
Third...
Send us your artwork so we can make sure it's ready for print. You have several options for sending files to us:
- Burn your files to CDs or DVDs and mail them to the Graphic Arts Manager. We suggest you send it “Certified Mail: Return Receipt Requested.” Please include an itemized packing list and your complete contact information. Please send us a simple e-mail to let us know it's coming, and we'll be looking for it.
- We discourage using e-mail to transfer large files, but we can accommodate that if necessary. Files submitted by email must be compressed using StuffIt or WinZip. NOTE: Large files may not transmit successfully. Please send a separate, short e-mail message telling us that you have sent a large file. We will reply to confirm that your message and file were received.
- Please contact the Graphic Arts Manager for FTP instructions (File Transfer Protocol – allows you to transfer files via the internet without going through your e-mail server) and passwords.
We need a hard-copy or soft-copy color proof of your ad to make sure what we see on our screen is what you expect us to print. Sometimes things disappear when converting files or viewing them on different versions of the same software (ours may differ from yours), and we want to make sure we see all the features of your ad. We don't charge for checking your artwork and files, and we won't charge if only minor and incidental work needs to be done (e.g., simple cropping, resizing, or file format changes, etc.) to get your ad ready for print.
If you are unable to provide print-ready files but have suitable text and images in hand, our Graphic Arts Department may be able to help you build a print-ready ad at no cost. If you require more extensive creative services, that may also be available to our advertisers at an additional cost.
If your files and artwork are not ready and require more than incidental effort to make them ready, we'll try to tell you what's wrong. You can fix it yourself, you can get someone else to do it, or you can get our Graphic Arts Department to fix it for you at a special discounted rate for AMM advertisers. The Graphic Arts Department bill you for that separately, rather than rolling it up into the cost of the ad space.
Finally...
Once we confirm that your artwork is ready, you must pay in full for the space and any work ordered by you that we did to get your ad ready. You have some payment options
- You may pay online by credit card using our secure shopping cart.*
- You may download and print an invoice and pay by check (in US finds and drawn on a US bank), money order, or credit card. Currently, we only accept MasterCard and VISA. We DO NOT keep your credit card or checking account numbers on file or in our systems once your transaction is complete.
Unless prior arrangements have been made to bill or invoice you, we reserve the right to not send an ad to lay-up until we have both complete, print-ready artwork and full payment, including your statement that that you accept the Terms and Conditions.
