By visiting aerospacemodeler.com (“this site”), you’re accepting the privacy practices of Aerospace Modeler Magazine and Rookie Aerospace, Inc. (“AMM” and “RAI”, or “us,” “we,” “their,” or “our”) described in this Privacy Policy Notice as reasonable and sufficient. If they’re not satisfactory to you, please don’t use this site.
AMM and RAI gather several kinds of information about you via aerospacemodeler.com and from other sources.
- We receive, process, and store any information you enter via aerospacemodeler.com (including its databases and servers), and we may also receive, process, and store any information in our databases that you provide us via telephone, letter or e-mail. You can choose not to provide information, but then you might not be able to take advantage of some features of aerospacemodeler.com. We use information that you provide to respond to your requests for products, services, or information and to communicate with you. We may also use personally non-identifiable data or anonymous survey data for a variety of internal functions (e.g., pre-sorting mail, etc.) or externally for advertising sales and marketing for AMM (e.g., total circulation numbers, numbers of subscribers in the US, percentages of modelers with certain scale preferences, other demographics, etc.).
- We receive, use, and store certain types of information automatically whenever you interact with aerospacemodeler.com.
- Like many websites, aerospacemodeler.com uses cookies to obtain information when your web browser accesses aerospacemodeler.com. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that we transfer to your computer's hard drive through your web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to make the website and shopping cart more responsive to your requests.
- Examples of other information we may collect and analyze may include Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; e-mail address; username and password; computer and connection information such as browser type, version, and time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform; the full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream to, through, and from our website, including date and time; cookie number; and products you viewed or searched for. We may also use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, etc.), and methods used to browse away from the page.
- We may update delivery and address information from postal carriers or other third parties to correct our records and deliver your next purchase or communication more promptly and accurately.
AMM and RAI uses and shares your information only in limited ways or in direct response to your requests.
- Although we maintain your shipping and mailing address in our files so we can mail or ship your magazines to you, we do not maintain your credit card information (card type, 16-digit card number, 3- or 4-digit CV number, and expiration date) on our servers after your transaction has been approved.
- We give your credit card information and billing address to credit card processors to receive payment for the products you ordered.
- We give your postal or shipping or other contact information to postal carriers and shippers so they can deliver the products you ordered to you.
- We do not sell, rent, share, give, or disclose your information to others for any political, commercial, promotional, or charitable uses.
- We will release account and other personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with law enforcement; enforce or apply our Terms and Conditions of Use and other agreements; or protect the rights, property, or safety of AMM or RAI or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection. Obviously, this does not include selling, renting, sharing, or otherwise disclosing personally identifiable information from customers and clients for commercial purposes in violation of the commitments set forth in this Privacy Policy Notice.
- Our website includes third-party advertising and links to other websites, but we do not provide any personally identifiable customer information to these advertisers or third-party websites.
Your Information Is Reasonably Protected.
- We protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you input.
- Your username and password give you access to a broad range of information in your accounts and about your transactions with AMM and RAI via aerospacemodeler.com for the limited purposes of viewing and updating that information. Anyone who obtains your username and password can have the same access. You must protect against unauthorized access to your AMM accounts (username and password) and to your computer. We cannot be responsible for compromises of your PIN that are not our fault. For example, if other people use your computer or open your mail, your PIN may be compromised, and they could cause problems with your AMM account. That's not our fault. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.
- You’re responsible to ensure that your mailing or shipping addresses and contact information are up-to-date and accurate, both on your AMM account and with the relevant postal services.
- AMM and RAI and its website aerospacemodeler.com are not currently participants in the joint EU/US Safe Harbor program.
- We’ll prosecute identity theft and fraud to the fullest extent of the law for your protection and ours.
You have Some Choices.
- You can choose not to use this website or provide information to us, even though it might prevent you from making a purchase via aerospacemodeler.com.
- You can download a hard-copy subscription or ad order form instead of ordering and paying on-line, or you can e-mail us with a phone number and a date and time to call you if you prefer to subscribe or make purchases over the phone.
- If you choose to visit aerospacemodeler.com, your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to this Privacy Policy Notice and our Terms and Conditions of Use, including limitations on damages, arbitration of disputes, and application of the law of the state of Colorado. (If you don’t want to receive Terms and Conditions of Use and other legal notices from us, such as this Privacy Policy Notice, those notices still govern your use of aerospacemodeler.com, and it’s your responsibility to review them for changes.)
- You can turn off the cookie function on your browser, but if you use this site and its shopping cart to work predictably, you should leave cookies turned on. The Help toolbar on most browsers will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to have the browser notify you when you receive a new cookie, or how to disable cookies altogether. A number of companies offer utilities to help you visit websites anonymously. We may not be able to fully process your requests for products, services, or information if you use these utilities or if we cannot recognize you, but we want you to be aware that these tools are available.
